Welcome to the Heritage Fruits Society Incorporated Fruit Varieties database.  In this section of the website we are building up a comprehensive listing of Heritage Varities which will include:

• Cultivar (common) Names / Synonyms for Fruit Varieties
• Provenance
• Status
• Parentage
• Size / Shape of Fruit
• Skin Colouring
• Flesh Type and Flavour
• Common Usage (eg Eating / Cooking / Jam / Drink production)
• Season (ie when the fruit is most likely to be ripe)
• Chilling Hours required for the tree to set fruit (to give you an idea of climate conditions required)
• Pollinators
• Growth Nature of the Tree
• General Comments / Observations of the Trees
• Photographs of the trees and the fruit as they become available
